House verdict

Covered in cash, not in earnings — for now. A 4.32% yield on a $0.4523 quarterly dividend, raised 5% in February 2026 from $0.4308 and paid September 10, 2026. Second-quarter 2026 results show why the grade is a warning, not a pass: net income was $88 million on $8,031 million of sales, a 1.1% margin, basic EPS was $0.17 and adjusted basic EPS was $0.35 — below the $0.4523 dividend, down from $0.44 a year earlier. What keeps it from worse is cash: net cash provided by operating activities was $765 million in the quarter, against a quarterly dividend bill of roughly $237 million at the share count, and adjusted EBITDA was $1,140 million at a 14.2% margin. Earnings do not cover this dividend today; operating cash flow did in the second quarter, after a much weaker first quarter.

Key risk: Thin earnings margin and heavy capital spending — second-quarter operating cash flow of $765 million has to fund both a large capex programme and the dividend, and adjusted EPS has fallen from $0.44 to $0.35 year over year while input costs, notably freight, rise. If earnings stay below the dividend, the payout leans on cash flow and the balance sheet, not on profit.

Changes if: Adjusted EPS stays below the $0.4523 quarterly dividend for another quarter, operating cash flow falls back toward the first quarter's $204 million, or the dividend is held flat while adjusted EPS keeps falling. Any of those turns a cash-covered warning into a cut question.

What this grade doesn't say: It screens the dividend only — covered, real, compounding. It says nothing about valuation or price: a well-covered payer can still be overpriced, and its price can still fall.
