House verdict

4x the S&P 500 yield without leverage — but at a strategy-fund price and a flat payout. QDPL paid $2.08 per share over the trailing 12 months, a 4.50% trailing yield at the $46.16 close on October 27, 2026, targeting 400% of the S&P 500 ordinary yield for about 89% of S&P 500 price exposure. Pacer states the strategy uses no leverage and no options writing; dividend futures are collateralized with Treasuries. The 0.60% expense ratio and a flat annual payout ($2.06–$2.09 in each of 2022–2025) are the cautions — the income is higher, not growing.

Key risk: The 4x yield is engineered with dividend futures, so the payout depends on S&P 500 dividends meeting futures-implied expectations, and monthly amounts swing widely ($0.12–$0.25 in 2026).

Changes if: The annual payout starts falling, total return lags the S&P 500 by more than the ~2-point annual gap, or Pacer changes the collateral/leverage construction.

What this grade doesn't say: It screens the dividend only — covered, real, compounding. It says nothing about valuation or price: a well-covered payer can still be overpriced, and its price can still fall.
